Ely Arts is the studio of [artist](https://redcrowdigital.com.au/services/arts/) Elyse Derricott, who creates commissioned pet portraits, portraits and characters in everything from grey lead and coloured pencil to watercolour, acrylic and pastel. Red Crow Digital designed and built her new portfolio website.

Challenge

## A template that held the work back

Ely's work sat on a template website builder that didn't show it at its best and was awkward to organise as the portfolio grew. Ely needed a gallery as considered as the art itself - sortable by medium, simple to update, and built to turn browsing into commission enquiries.

Solution

## A gallery built around the art

- A bespoke design, with a live options panel so Ely could compare variations and choose the look
- An editable gallery where each artwork is tagged by medium and ordered by hand, with images pre-sized so the gallery loads quickly
- A home page hero where the artwork cycles through, with small personal touches such as a cat cameo
- A commission enquiry form that captures the brief - commission or existing piece, subject and medium - and sends a branded email Ely can reply to directly
- SEO optimised, with structured data and social sharing cards, so it's easy to find through Google
