Hunter Office Furniture supplies office furniture across Australia, with a showroom in Beresfield, NSW. Red Crow Digital designed and built their online store - and its sister store, Hunter Office Technology - as custom ecommerce sites running on a single Django and Wagtail platform.
The challenge
Hunter Office Furniture wanted to sell online properly - a fast, branded store that could carry a large, frequently-changing catalogue and be easy for the team to run day to day, not a generic template. They also needed a second store for their technology range, Hunter Office Technology, and building and maintaining that as a separate site made no sense. They needed both stores to share one platform, and to be live quickly without compromising the shopping experience.
The solution
- Two full ecommerce stores - hunterofficefurniture.com.au and hunterofficetechnology.com.au - built on Django and Wagtail
- One codebase and a single Wagtail instance running both stores, so new features and fixes ship to both at once and there is only one system to maintain
- A catalogue of thousands of products, kept up to date in bulk through a supplier-spreadsheet import
- A complete shopping experience: category navigation, product search by name, category or SKU, customer accounts and guest checkout, and configurable freight and shipping zones
- Braintree payment integration, a mobile-first responsive design, and AWS hosting with SSL and ongoing platform and security updates
