  • 40,000+ articles, spanning 30 years
  • 25,000+ user sessions a month
  • Members across 70+ countries

The International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA) is the global network of arts councils, culture ministries and government agencies, with members representing more than 70 countries. Red Crow Digital has built and operated IFACCA’s digital platform, ifacca.org, for over a decade - the federation’s public home and a deep online knowledge base for arts and cultural policy.

The challenge

IFACCA needs to be the definitive online resource for arts and cultural policy worldwide - somewhere the global sector can find news, research, country-by-country policy profiles and decades of accumulated knowledge in one place. That means running a large, long-lived content platform: tens of thousands of articles, a deep historical archive, a global members’ area and steady traffic from every region, all kept fast, current and available year after year.

The solution

  • ifacca.org built on Django with the Wagtail CMS, so the IFACCA team can manage a vast, decades-deep article archive themselves - publishing, editing and organising content without a developer
  • A large, searchable content library: news, themes and research across the full breadth of arts and culture
  • Places - an interactive world map linking to country profiles of national arts institutions, policy and activity by region
  • A members’ area and registration for the federation’s institutional members across 70+ countries
  • Kept current through successive Python and Django upgrades, AWS hosting, security patching and ongoing support

The results

  • Live and continuously supported for over ten years
  • 40,000+ articles, with content reaching back as far as 30 years
  • Averages 25,000+ user sessions every month
  • Serves a global membership across more than 70 countries
